Mechanics
Song Aura
Your selected song repeats automatically, renewing its duration after each cast. Spell Casting Haste speeds up these casts. The song lasts 15s after its last cast, even when you switch songs. Lingering Melody lengthens this duration.
Active Song Limit
A Bard sustains two songs by default (the Active Songs value in your character window). Starting another song at the limit ends the song you renewed longest ago. Learning Polyphony removes the limit. See Bard Songs.
Song Scaling
Bard
- Song power
- 100% + 0.1% per point of Charisma above 0, at most 300%
- Skill Fear Resist
- 3.5 percentage points at rank 1, +3.5 per rank (35 at rank 10)
- Fear Resist
- Skill Fear Resist × Song power, at most 70 percentage points
Example ,rank 10,100 Charisma
38.5 percentage points of Fear Resist
Song power: 100% + 10% × 1 = 110%
Skill Fear Resist: 3.5 + 3.5 × (10 − 1) = 35 percentage points
Fear Resist: 35 percentage points × 110% = 38.5 percentage points
Songs scale with Charisma, not Wisdom or Intelligence.
Fear Resist
The affected character receives 35% Fear Resist at rank 10, before Charisma scaling. When a fear roll succeeds, the target can still resist the fear, with a chance equal to its Fear Resist. This skill adds at most 70% to that chance after Charisma scaling. Total Fear Resist from all sources is capped at 100%.
